Elves

Summary

Elves are the longest-lived of all the creations of Quintra and Denday, reaching lifespans up to 1200 years. They are known for their tall, slender forms, pointed ears, and slightly rotated eyes. While not inherently more intelligent than humans, elves devote far more time to study and self-mastery, making them renowned for their knowledge, discipline, and skill. Other races sometimes see them as arrogant, but elves are in truth gentle, patient, and kind.

Origins & Mythology

The elves were created by Quintra and Denday to be the keepers of knowledge. Appointed by the twin goddesses themselves, elves were tasked with gathering and documenting the wisdom of Eonil. Much of this ancient knowledge was tragically lost during the Age of Darkness, but the elven legacy as wise scholars and chroniclers remains.

Physical Characteristics

  • Average Height: Equal to or taller than humans; the tallest elves can be a head above even large humans
  • Build: Slender and graceful
  • Lifespan: Up to 1200 years
  • Distinct Features: Pointed ears, slightly rotated eyes, elegant posture

Culture & Society

  • Habitat: High elves prefer cities and grasslands; wood elves dwell in forests and are rarely seen by outsiders
  • Social Structure: Symbolic and status-driven; noble families are honored for deeds and responsibilities rather than lineage alone. Influential nobles form councils to decide important elven matters.
  • Traditions: Discipline, scholarship, and patience are highly valued. Elves take pride in their skilled armies and dedication to learning.
  • Economy: Wealth is seen as a tool, not a goal. Elves trade among themselves at reduced prices, and most live in comfort or luxury, which can appear extravagant to other races.
