Origins & Mythology
Believed to have first appeared in the Age of Light (Third Era and onward), Corrupter Wolves are said to be ordinary wolves corrupted or created by Ghor. Their existence serves as a terrifying example of the dark god's power to twist natural life into weapons of fear and death.
Physical Characteristics
- Fur: Patchy, mottled, shrouded in greasy black mist or smoke
- Eyes: Unnatural, sickly red glow, burning fiercely in the darkness
- Body: Unnaturally swollen, uneven muscles; movements broken and unnatural, as if forced into a twisted shape
- Aura: Trails black smoke, especially from jaws and wounds; its presence blackens the grass beneath its feet

- Habitat: Deep forests at the base of the western mountains, often on the outskirts of elven territory
- Behavior:
- Aggressive and relentless hunter, especially active at night
- Pursues prey with unnatural endurance
- Fearless, showing no pain or hesitation even when injured
- Acts on corrupted instinct, compelled by Ghor’s will
- Folklore: Villagers whisper of beasts twisted by Ghor; the Corrupter Wolf’s howl is said to chill the soul. It is feared for its immunity to pain and its ability to spread darkness wherever it roams.
