The red moon

The red moon

Eonil also has an actual moon which is called the red moon or Ghor. It is named after the god of chaos himself who is said to be banished to the red moon. Like Denday Ghor also has a soft glow. Ghor’s glow is bright to dark red. Ghor is therefore also sometimes referred to as the blood moon.

It is common knowledge that when the red moon is visible in the sky there is an increase of ‘Ghor activity’ meaning there are more sightings and attacks by creatures of Ghor and Ghor corruption is stronger. This is why people believe that the banished god of chaos still has some influence on the face of Eonil, but only at the places it's moon is visible.

Facings

Ghor doesn’t really have anything resembling facings. The red moon illuminates from itself and typically is full. It isn’t uncommon however for the red moon to appear to have some facing, but this is just a play of light rather than actual facing of the tiny planet.

Eclipses

Eclipses on Eonil can occur but only by the red moon Ghor. Since both the sun Quintra and the blue moon Denday are on opposite sides of Eonil they cannot eclipse each other. The red moon acts like an actual moon around Eonil, circling the planet closer then Quintra and Denday and so it can cause both solar and lunar eclipses.

Despite a lot of superstition eclipses don’t actually seem to have any negative influence on the influence of Quintra or Denday. Still many people firmly believe it actually does.
