Status

Origins of Status

As civilization developed on Eonil, the twin goddesses Quintra and Denday began appointing individuals to important roles and tasks. Some of these positions were seen as more prestigious or essential than others, granting not only honor to the chosen individuals but also elevating the status of their families within their own race and among others. Because Quintra and Denday valued equality among all races, this elevation was recognized across the societies of Eonil.

Formation of Social Classes

Alongside the bestowal of status, wealth and privilege often followed. Social classes gradually emerged, ranging from the poor to the middle class and upper class. In the earliest eras, most people were middle or upper class since resources and opportunities were abundant and easily obtainable. This abundance reduced the need for theft or dishonest means of gaining wealth—at least until the twin goddesses were banished from Eonil.

Equality Among Races and Genders

One of the defining aspects of Eonil’s societies is the principle of equality. The gods, especially Quintra and Denday, regarded all people—regardless of gender or race—as equal. Any differences, such as physical strength or magical talent, were seen as complementary rather than divisive. As a result, men and women have always been considered equals in the eyes of the gods and within the social order.

In Summary

Status in Eonil is rooted in divine recognition and merit, shaping a society where equality is a central value and social classes developed as a natural extension of honor and wealth, rather than oppression or discrimination.
