The Bartholy family is widely regarded as the most restrained and compassionate of the vampire houses.

They believe that vampires and mortals could coexist, if only the truth were properly understood. While they acknowledge the necessity of secrecy, they resent it deeply and see it as a temporary measure rather than a permanent state.

The Bartholy family is the largest voluntary donor of vampire blood for use by healers and medics, despite this practice being strictly forbidden by vampire law. Any vampire caught donating blood faces execution at the hands of their own kind.

Turning practices within the Bartholy family are rare and strictly consensual. They will only turn:

• Those who explicitly request it
• Those who are dying and cannot be saved by any other means

In all cases, the consequences of vampirism are explained fully, and consent is required.
