Demonic Language
Demonic Language
Overview
The Demonic language is spoken by creatures corrupted by Ghor. Sometimes called the Ghor language or plague language, it is most widely known as the demonic language due to its sinister reputation. Legends say that simply hearing the language can metaphorically—and sometimes even literally—awaken the demons within a person’s mind.
Usage and Purpose
Creatures of Ghor, such as necromancers, warlocks, and liches, are known to use this language to conjure the dead, command them, or spread the plagues and corruption of Ghor. Much like the language of magic is used to shape elemental forces, the demonic language is used to manipulate dark magic.
Written Script
The Demonic language has its own distinctive script, as evidenced by numerous surviving scrolls, inscriptions, and grimoires. Spellbooks written in the demonic script are feared as powerful tools of corruption.
Dangers of the Language
Few who are not creatures of Ghor dare to speak or read the demonic language. It is widely believed that any attempt to read or translate the script aloud carries a significant risk of falling under Ghor’s corrupting influence.
In Summary
The Demonic language remains a powerful and dangerous tongue, intimately tied to Ghor’s corruption, dark magic, and the creatures that serve him.
