Half Elves

Half elves
Origins & Mythology
While not a creation of the gods themselves, half elves exist because Quintra and Denday designed humans and elves to be compatible. Though rare, half elves are living proof of the unity and possibilities between the two peoples. They can live up to 700 years and inherit traits from either parent, sometimes equally or sometimes favoring one side more strongly.
Physical Characteristics
- Average Height: Varies from tall, slender human to bulkier elf; typically between human and elf standards
- Build: Slender to sturdy, depending on parentage
- Lifespan: Up to 700 years
- Distinct Features: May have smaller, subtler elven ears, a mix of facial features; often difficult to distinguish from either parent race without close knowledge
Culture & Society
- Habitat: No unique civilization; half elves usually live among humans or elves
- Social Structure: No known noble families; typically the children of individual unions rather than established lineages
- Traditions: No unique traditions, usually adopting the customs of their community
- Economy: Work and roles determined by their place in either human or elven society
Subraces & Variants
- No formal subraces: Individual half elves may favor either parent in appearance or ability, but all are considered part of the same group.
Notable Facts
- Half elves are more commonly accepted by elves than by humans, where prejudice is especially strong among human nobility.
- Half elves are never known to hold noble titles or establish noble lines, as such unions are frowned upon in human society and shrouded in secrecy among elves.
- Their appearance can be so ambiguous that only those who know their parents can reliably identify a half elf.
