The arrival of the new gods
~55 Before Fifth Era (Fourth Era — Late Age of Darkness)
Amidst the war and chaos of the Age of Darkness, four new deities appeared upon Eonil: Thoron, Myalanna, Envylon, and Ysandra. In the world’s darkest hour, they came together to fight the corruption of Ghor and the terrors that roamed unchecked across the lands.
The Pact of Unity
Recognizing that no single god could end the Darkness alone, the four swore a pact of unity. Together they would bring order, faith, and resistance. It is said they first arrived upon the island now called the Landing of the Gods, where they gathered and built the first great temples. In the centre they raised a grand meeting ground, where their churches coordinated joint ventures against Ghor’s corruption.
The First Followers
Each god swiftly gathered followers, and from among them were chosen the first hunters of Ghor:
Thyr, Luna, Bohr, Amber — the first priests.
Twill, Gondo, Vic, Esmay — the first paladins.
Lohn and Mavee — a ranger and a knight.
Aktor and Li — powerful wielders of magic.
Together these twelve became the First Ghor Hunters, leading the faithful against the forces of Darkness.
The New Faiths
Thoron, Myalanna, Envylon, and Ysandra proclaimed themselves the Gods of the New Faiths. They declared that Quintra, Denday, and Ghor were dead, dismissing all claims of lingering blessings. A god who no longer walked the surface of Eonil, they said, could no longer bless its followers. The creatures of Ghor were dismissed as remnants of the past — a disease spreading like a plague among beasts and mortals alike.
The old religions were branded heresy. Any who clung to the worship of Quintra, Denday, or Ghor were condemned. The New Faiths demanded conversion under threat of death: one could join Thoron, Myalanna, Envylon, or Ysandra, or be cast aside.
Legacy
With their arrival, a new order began to take shape. The New Faiths spread swiftly, uniting mortals under fresh banners and temples. The zeal of their early followers and the organized fight against corruption became a decisive force in ending the Age of Darkness — though their rise left scars of its own.
