The white hare

The white hare

“Bright hare, bold and fleet,

With fur of stars and nimble feet—
Grant me luck, grant me cheer,
A swirled egg found will bless my year!
May my steps be quick and wise,
As the sun in Myalanna’s skies.”

Long ago, in the soft light of Denday, bands of clever white hares with swirling, luminous patterns on their fur were spotted darting through the hills. These magical creatures, it was whispered, hid enchanted painted eggs beneath the fresh grass of early spring. As the days lengthened, children would set out on egg-hunts, believing that a lucky finder would gain swift feet, a sharp wit, or perhaps a secret blessing for the year to come.

Some say the white hares are companions of Eonil itself, scattering gifts across the land as tokens of renewal and hope.

Even now, in the time between the cycles of Garandar and Qastaii in the season of Myalanna, people of the Xaverion Islands still search for the telltale shimmer of magical eggs and the flash of a white hare’s fur among the emerald grasses. It is a season of delight, laughter, and gentle magic—when the boundaries between luck, play, and miracle seem to blur beneath the warming sun.
