The vampire court

Classification

Secret Organization • Undead Governance

Overview

The Vampire Court is the governing body of vampire society, formed by the six surviving vampire families after the rise of the Dag’da.

Its purpose is to:

  • Uphold vampire law
  • Prevent exposure of vampiric existence
  • Regulate turning, feeding, and internal conflict

Each family holds one seat within the Court.

Authority & Law

The Court’s rulings are absolute. Punishments range from final death to erasure of identity.

Notable laws include:

  • Absolute secrecy from mortals
  • Prohibition of voluntary blood donation
  • Regulation of turning non-vampires

While enforcement is strict, political manoeuvring within the Court is common.

The Families

  • The Bartholy family (good)
  • The Sigris family ( neutral evil)
  • To be determined/claimed. (Neutral)
  • To be determined/claimed. (Undetermined )
  • To be determined/claimed. (Undetermined )
  • To be determined/claimed. (Undetermined )

Internal Politics

Relations between families are governed by a fragile, weaponized peace. Intrigue, sabotage, and manipulation are frequent, provided they do not openly violate Court law.

Despite rivalries, all families agree on one truth:

The survival of vampirekind outweighs all other concerns.

Perception

Older vampires often regard themselves as the equals — or superiors — of mortal nobility. Many have infiltrated noble houses, wielding influence without revealing their true nature.
