The goddess of Light: Quintra
Lady of Light, Mother of Dawn
“In the light of Quintra, all shadows flee.” — Temple saying
Quintra is the goddess of Light, the source of day, warmth, and all that is good in Eonil. Her radiance brings life to fields and forests, drives away the dangers of night, and brings hope to every heart. Where her light falls, evil and shadow cannot endure. She is twin sister to the banishes goddess of dark Denday.
Pronounce: She/her. Quinta is considered female.
History
In the first days of the world, when only chaos reigned, the god Ghor ruled Eonil in darkness and destruction. The gentle goddess Eonil herself was cast out and turned into the planet beneath our feet. To answer her cries, the Twin Goddesses Quintra and Denday came from the far corners of the universe, bringing with them the promise of Light and Night.
Quintra, whose power is the golden sun, and Denday, who brought the gentle blue moon, joined together to challenge Ghor. Their struggle with Ghor lasted centuries, as they created their own champions and races to fight for peace and order. In the end, Ghor was banished to the red moon and cast to circle Eonil, forever kept at bay.
After the defeat of chaos, the sisters ruled the world together. Quintra and Denday shared the sky: day and night, sun and moon, Light and gentle shadow. It is told that the world prospered under their guidance, and the great races grew in peace.
Yet even the greatest hearts may be troubled. As time passed, rivalry and jealousy grew between the sisters, fanned by old whispers of Ghor’s malice. When Quintra challenged her sister to an honorable duel and triumphed, she placed her sun at the center and Eonil began to orbit her light. Still, she agreed to share rule, and so day and night continued.
But some among the peoples preferred the night’s gentle blue to the day’s golden blaze. In anger and sorrow, Quintra struck at her sister. Denday was cast to her blue moon, and half its light was lost, the moon forever marked. The night dwellers were forced into hiding, and thus began the Age of Light.
Now, under Quintra’s watchful eye, Eonil flourishes. Temples to the Lady of Light stand in every land. The great waygates connect distant peoples. Still, wise folk remember that where there is light, shadow must also remain—and every dawn is a promise kept.
Worship
Temples dedicated to Quintra are found wherever people value safety, healing, and order. Her followers gather at sunrise and sunset for prayer, lighting candles and burning fragrant oils in her honor. The priesthood wears robes of white and gold, and novices are trained in both healing arts and rituals to drive away misfortune.
Common offerings at her altars include fresh bread, clear spring water, polished stones, and wildflowers (except sunflowers, which are not associated with her in tradition). Brass and gold are favored metals for sacred objects.
The Nature of Light and Darkness
To walk in the sunlight is to enjoy Quintra’s protection. As dusk falls, her followers are urged to return home, for the night is considered a time of uncertainty and hidden dangers. Elders warn that darkness belongs to older, wilder forces, and only the foolish ignore these ancient boundaries.

The goddess of Light: Quintra
Her priestesses teach that Light reveals truth, heals wounds, and defends the innocent. Shadows are to be respected but not trusted.

On Other Powers
While some speak of the blue moon and the night beyond the fields, all children of the Light are taught that Quintra is the world’s shield against evil. Old tales hint at rivalries and ancient pacts, but for most people, the sun’s rising is proof enough of Quintra’s favor.
