Vasha

Vasha is a young transgender Oakhai woman with arctic fox traits, recognisable by her ebony skin, snowy-white hair and distinctive blue-tipped fox ears and tail.

A skilled archer with a natural affinity for druidic magic, Vasha is an apprentice to the Ee'dornil druid Thorn. She travels alongside him and the healer Suraia Silverbell.

Appearance

Vasha has rich, dark brown skin, pale blue eyes and long, snowy-white hair with light blue tips, which she commonly wears in a loose braid.

Her Oakhai heritage is evident in her white fox ears and long, fluffy arctic fox tail, both tipped with pale blue. Her ears and tail are particularly expressive, often giving away her mood before she says a word.

Vasha also possesses the ability to transform into a small arctic fox, retaining her distinctive colouring.

Attire

Vasha wears practical travelling clothes suited to moving through the wilderness.

Her equipment includes a bow, quiver and hunting dagger. She also wears sturdy boots and leather bracers, which Suraia helped her acquire shortly after they met.

Personality

Vasha is cheerful, sociable and mischievous, with a fondness for playful banter. She is particularly adept at teasing her travelling companions, especially when she notices something that might embarrass Suraia.

Her outgoing nature is accompanied by genuine kindness. When she first encounters Suraia at the Three Points trading post, she intervenes to help the young healer out of an unpleasant confrontation, despite the two being complete strangers.

Vasha is quick-witted and resourceful, but she is also quite capable of standing her ground. She has little patience for prejudice, particularly when directed towards her Oakhai heritage.

Though she sometimes tests Thorn's patience with her cheeky remarks, she respects him as her mentor and is eager to learn more about druidic magic.

Skills & Abilities

Vasha is a capable hunter and accomplished archer. She is comfortable navigating woodland and has demonstrated considerable skill with her bow.

She also possesses a natural affinity for druidic magic, although she admits that she struggles to control it. Hoping to develop her abilities, she asks Thorn to take her on as his apprentice.

Like Thorn, Vasha is capable of shapeshifting, assuming the form of an arctic fox.

Fears & Weaknesses

Although generally confident and outgoing, Vasha has her vulnerabilities.

In a private conversation with Suraia, she reveals that she is transgender and expresses her concern about whether someone she might grow fond of would accept her for who she is.

It is a rare moment of vulnerability from the otherwise mischievous young woman, and one that further strengthens the friendship between the two companions.

Virtues

Compassionate and loyal, Vasha is quick to offer assistance to those who need it, even when she has little to gain herself.

Her playful personality often brings a little levity to difficult circumstances, while her practical skills make her a valuable travelling companion. She is willing to learn, unafraid to speak her mind and fiercely opposed to prejudice.
